Yono App

When the install stops

PlayDownload APK

When the installer stops, check four things in order: the file reached 2,569,509 bytes, Android is allowed to install it, the phone has room, and the message is not a signature conflict. A conflict is a stop, not a prompt to fetch a different apk.

When this applies

Use this guide when Download APK saved a file and Android did not finish placing the icon. Use it when the install sheet flashes and closes, when a setting page opens instead of an icon, or when a message says the app conflicts with one already installed. A login problem after a successful install is the login guide, not this one.

A Play button that never opens a tab is a website problem. That fix is on the website. Do not mix a blocked pop-up with a broken package.

Before you retry

Look at the download notification and read the size. If it is far under 2,569,509 bytes, you do not have a package to install. About 2.5 MB is the phone’s rounding of the full file. Delete a short file before you retry, so the next tap cannot open the broken one by habit.

Read the exact message if there is one. “Conflict”, “already installed”, or a signature complaint goes to already on the phone. This page will mention it and then send you there, because the remedy is not another download.

Do this

  1. Confirm the file size. If it is short, delete it and press Download APK once. Wait for the full size.
  2. Open that full file. If Android says installs from this source are blocked, open the setting it offers and allow this browser or file manager.
  3. Return to the same file and open it again. You can turn the install permission off after the icon exists.
  4. If the sheet says there is not enough space, free room for the package and its unpacked app, then open the same file. Do not download a smaller “lite” file. None is offered here.
  5. If the sheet names a conflict or says the app is already installed with an incompatible signature, stop. Leave the other app. This file will not replace it.
  6. If the sheet finishes, go to app info and read Yono and version name 1.0.1. The install is no longer the problem.
  7. If the sheet never appears and the size is full, open the file from the system downloads app rather than from a chat bubble.

What those messages mean

A permission page means Android is protecting the phone from packages that did not come from a store. Allowing the source you just used is the specific change. Allowing every unknown source forever is more than this install needs.

A storage message means the file may be fully downloaded and still unable to unpack. Free space, then reuse the file you already checked. Downloading again into a full disk creates a second partial file and makes the size check harder.

A conflict message means the signature does not match an app already present, or Android is refusing to move a version backwards. This guide has no older file and no newer file. Version name 1.0.1 is the only one. The other app stays.

After it completes

Read the version name before you celebrate. A finished sheet for a different label is a finished install of something else. The version guide is the confirmation. Then log in with the mobile number. The installer does not log you in.

Turn the unknown-sources permission back off if you only enabled it for this file. The app does not need that permission again until a future install, and this preview is not announcing one.

If the same stop repeats

Repeating a conflict will repeat the conflict. Another copy of version 1.0.1 does not become a different signature because you downloaded it twice. Stop after one clear conflict message and use Play in the browser if you still want the channel today.

Repeating a short download on the same weak network will keep producing short files. Change networks, download once, and read the size before you open anything. Do not fill the gap with a file whose caption promises a closer size. This page has one size.

What this page refuses to add

It does not give a package name to type into a file manager. It does not give a minimum Android version to compare with the phone. It does not give uninstall steps for the bank app or for any other rummy icon. Those apps can remain. The games channel is still available through Play while the installer is stuck.

Questions

The file is only a few hundred kilobytes. Can I install it?

No. The full file is 2,569,509 bytes. A much smaller file is an interrupted transfer. Delete it and download again.

Android blocked the install. Is the file bad?

Often it is the unknown-apps permission. Allow the source that holds this file, then open the same full-size apk.

It says the app conflicts. Which file fixes that?

None. This file will not install over a different signature. Leave the other app.

Should I uninstall the other Yono so this one fits?

This guide does not ask for that. Use Play in the browser if you need the channel today.

The sheet finished but there is no Yono 1.0.1. What happened?

A different app installed. Read the label on the system screen. Come back to this file only if that label is not the one you wanted.
